We spent an evening here to check out the sites and markets and also to acclimatize to the altitude (2380m). Its been interesting in regards to the idea to slowly progress up to the 3800m of Cusco and Machu Picchu. I was a bit light headed heading into dinner, but after a bit of soda and water, things were better. We ended up having dinner and a show where I ended up doing a bit of dancing to pan pipes (in a dress…). Photos of that won’t be shown here unfortunately! The next morning started at 5 am with me checking out the sunrise from Mirador de Yanahuara over the volcanoes of Pichu Pichu, Chachani and Misti (which is still deemed active).
