This was one of the most surprising things on the trip thus far. I wasn’t expecting the home stay (yes, I’m sure it was on my itinerary that I read REALLY well), but also just the humbleness of it all and how much fun it all was! Dressing up of course added to that!
It showed us all how the locals go about their lives in a community, with the women constantly spinning wool and making mittens, scarves, hats and blankets as their livelihood. It really does put into perspective how much time and effort goes into it all.

Dinner was served not long after my our “mums”:

This was NOT served that night (I had Cuy earlier in the trip), which I’m glad about since I saw them and they are adorably cute!

Of course, I found myself waking up at the crack of dawn to witness the sunrise over the mountains. Definitely something worth doing anywhere you are in the world (people disagree and tell me that it rises every day…).

Hmmm, I haven’t been listening too well (or remembering), so I can’t be sure if its an alpaca or a llama I’ve got a selfie with…
